As you may or may not have seen on Instagram recently, last month From Zero To Blog Hero hosted its very first blog retreat in Sardinia, Italy.
In June four upcoming bloggers spent 9 days in Palau learning all the basics to transition from having a part-time hobby blog to a professional blog that can generate a full-time income.
We covered all sorts of topics such as how to define your brand to stand out from the crowd, understanding Google Analytics, using SEO and Pinterest to boost your blog traffic, growing a loyal and engaged following on social media, monetising passively through affiliates, working with brands and getting paid to do so, creating your products and more.
The schedule for the retreat looked something like this.
It was a packed retreat, with theory classes alternated with fun beach moments and activities. After all, Sardinia is a beautiful destination, we didn’t want to spend all our time locked up in a room looking at a screen!
We’re very happy with how the retreat turned out, and are already planning to organise more in the future.
But enough of us back-slapping each other, we’ll let our students tell you how the retreat went!
Meredith Fulford – The Longest Weekend
“All the content was extremely valuable and the way they broke it down was easy to follow.
The way we kicked off the retreat with articulating our personal brands really framed the rest of the week and how we want our sites develop in the future.
I would 1000% recommend the retreat. I have been blogging for about a year and took many different courses but didn’t really have direction on growth. The retreat just took it from start to finish, whether you are a beginner blogger of further along in process, everyone can take a lot of value away from the course. Just to be able to ask questions first hand and hearing what makes Marta and Greta successful, that was invaluable.
The coolest part was that we were learning while we were actually out there. We had an in depth photography class where we learnt about content creation, saw the behind the scenes of creating beautiful photos, drone shots, videos and more. We saw so much of La Maddalena archipelago and learnt at the same time.
Sardinia was absolutely a dream! There as a great mix of seeing what Sardinia has to offer and learning so much, I loved how much education there was.
The teachers were so unbelievably knowledgeable, professional and are true experts in their field. The level of professionalism they brought to courses, everything was actionable, specific and had research behind it. Their teaching style was really aligned with what it takes to be successful in this business. We covered everything in such detail and they gave me all the tools to take my blog to another level!
The From Zero To Blog Hero retreat really stands out from other options out there with the level of education offered!
I walked away with tools to be successful in blogging world and I have no doubt that the courses that we took and everything I learned, prepared me for success.”
Ann Kelly – The Road Is Life
“This course was right to the point! I learned a lot of information that I couldn’t just find searching the Internet. It was really educational which I enjoyed and I am feeling way more confident reaching out to brands now.
I thought I will learn something I already know but no, I took a lot of information out of this retreat and learned things I never heard of!
It is nice to have down to Earth successful people that are not hiding any information from you. Greta and Marta genuinely want you to succeed. I learned a lot about different aspects of blogging and felt comfortable asking them any questions I had as they were really really open with all their knowledge. I couldn’t have asked for better teachers!
It was a huge success. There was a lot of variety covered in this retreat!”
“The ability to ask questions about any topics was very helpful. I can’t wait to go back home and put it all into practice. My favourite activity was the catamaran trip; it was a very chilled beautiful day full of content creation, enjoying the sun and the beaches.
I would definitely recommend the retreat to someone who wants to be serious about blogging. You can read a lot of different pieces online but when someone who actually blogs professionally puts it all together it’s way more helpful. Plus we were studying in sunny Sardinia!
Sardinia Blog retreat really exceeded my expectations. It was not only a lot of fun but also full of high-end materials. The activities plan broke the schedule nicely and made an overall fun experience.”
“Both Greta and Marta were wonderful, they have very well rounded skillset in blogging, Instagram and monetizing and they were very approachable.
We covered so many different topics and it was great to have all the courses together in context, going from start to finish it all made sense. I loved the mix of classes and activities that broke up the classes.
Thecatamaran trip was the highlight of the retreat for me.My favourite classes were the ones on SEO, creating webinars, and learning how to build and monetise a mailing list.”
